  • Resumen
    • Comment is a pragmatic function where argumentation, enunciation, modality and information concur. It includes operators, connectives, and interclausal relations. Comment operators mark the evaluation of the speaker about the propositional content of the sentence. They appear like an afterthought which stresses the previous information. Among them there are three types: (a) grammaticalized adverbs of modality, which concern the subjectivity of the speaker, (b) operators with the verb decir, concerning the speech act, and (c) operators with an intensifier, marking the argumentative force of the assertion. The operators (b) and (c) are not completely grammaticalized. They may appear with que, y, or as a parenthetical. By using these operators, the speaker reinforces the previous arguments and places them in a high-scale position.
