    • The article discusses scientists' efforts to develop soft robots as of December 2013. The advantages offered by soft robots that mimic the movements of octopuses, worms and other invertebrates are discussed including their ability to work in limited and irregularly shaped spaces. It highlights soft robot projects developed by scientists at Cornell University and at Harvard University's Whitesides Research Group.
