    Coincidiendo con el cincuenta aniversario de su fallecimiento, presentamos este artículo sobre la obra de Leoncio Urabayen. En él se incluyen un análisis de su monografía sobre el valle de Ezkabarte y una breve revisión de otros estudios de este investigador, pues, aunque estos trabajos fueron fundamentalmente concebidos desde un enfoque geográfico, también son de gran utilidad para conocer numerosas cuestiones relacionadas con el panorama etnográfico local. Ambos apartados van precedidos de unos breves apuntes biográficos sobre la persona de este interesante geográfo y pedagogo navarro.

    Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of his death, we present this article about the work of Leoncio Urabayen. It includes a review of his monograph on the valley of Ezkabarte and a brief analysis of other studies by this researcher, because, although these works were mainly conceived from a geographical point of view, they are also very useful to know many issues related to the local ethnographic panorama. Both sections are preceded by brief biographical notes about the person of this interesting geographer and Navarrese pedagogue.

Idazlana, Ezkabarteri buruz egindako monografiaren iruzkinak eta ikerlari honen beste lan batzuen gaineko azterketa laburrak osatzen dute, izan ere, ikerlan hauek ikuspegi geografiko berezi batez sortuak izan arren, bertako egoera etnografikoarekin loturiko zenbait kontu hobeki ezagutzeko ere oso baliogarriak baitira.
