The authors argue that the Nobel Foundation, the group that oversees the awarding of the Nobel prize, ought to alter the rules that prevent the prizes from being split among no more than three people. The difficulty of choosing only three scientists to award a Nobel Prize among the many who helped in the discovery of the Higgs boson particle is noted. The authors suggest that the Nobel committee award the prize to organizations or allow the prize split among more than three winners.
