The article discusses the melting and collapse of Antarctic glaciers and the implications for global sea-level rise. Topics include the fragmentation of ice shelves and the consequent collapse of glaciers, how scientists are researching how ice shelves disintegrate and estimate future sea-levels, and how satellite imagery does not provide sufficient data for accurate assessments of glacier collapse. Additional information about how glaciologists are studying the Antarctic Peninsula and the effects of climate change on glaciers is also presented.
