In this article the authors discuss the seriousness of concussion in children. They argue that concussion in children is a serious problem that has not received the attention it deserves, offering statistics related to the percentage of individuals 18-years-old and younger treated in U.S. emergency rooms each year for concussions. The need for further research on the long-term health consequences of concussion in children and how best to address the problem is also discussed.
