In this article the author discusses the benefits of a U.S. federal agency for integrating robotics into society. Topics include important technologies that led to the formation of new agencies in the past, such as radio, which led to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), examples of the problems that federal agencies, such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the state of Nevada have had with robotics, and a lack of government expertise in robotics.
