Motivations of the religious tourist - pilgrim and his satisfaction

    • In the present investigation an analysis of the motivations of religious-pilgrim tourists and their satisfaction with a series of factors that make up the offer, infrastructure and tourism supra-structure of El Cisne is developed; parish that is located to the northeast of the corner Loja at a distance of 72 km. In this town is its imposing basilica considered as the only one in the Ecuadorian extreme south where the pilgrimage in honor of the Virgin of El Cisne takes place on August 15 of each year. The methodology of this research is through a statistical-descriptive analysis using the survey technique and the Likert scale where the score is detailed on a scale of 1 to 5, the value of 1 means very dissatisfied and the score 5 is very satisfied. These data were collected through a survey applied to religious tourists and pilgrims during the time of pilgrimage. The factors included in the survey encompass three blocks: the supply, infrastructure and superstructure of the area. Through the development of the field research, the results that are manifested in the different opinions of the respondents are presented, based on this, the level of satisfaction of the religious and pilgrim tourist is determined, as well as the real motivations that drive the development of this modality of tourism in the area, the vision and the tourist experience that the religious pilgrim tourist has in this locality.
