El artículo establece un vínculo analítico entre las reflexiones acerca del trabajo historiador (métier d ́historien) en Roger Chartier y la filosofía crítica de la historia en Paul Ricoeur. Se presenta esta relación en base a las nociones de representación y verdad, herramientas que han servido a los autores para posicionar la disciplina historiadora como ciencia social frente a los postulados postmodernos o narrativistas de la historiografía.

The article establishes an analytical link between the reflections on the work of historians (métier d ́historien) in Roger Chartier and the critical philosophy of history in Paul Ricoeur. This relationship is presented based on the notions of representation and truth, tools that have served the authors to position the historian discipline as a social science against the postmodern postulates or narrativist historiography.
