    Attraverso il concetto di “divisione” intensa nel suo significato politico, economico e fisico è possibile ricostruire le complesse dinamiche che hanno attraversato il Mezzogiorno d’Italia tra fine Settecento ed i primi decenni dell’800. Le forti contrapposizioni e le temporanee ricomposizioni incisero non solo sui fondamentali assetti istituzionali, ma anche su molti settori della società, dalla politica all’economia, dalle istituzioni giudiziarie a quelle culturali. In un tempo breve vennero a sintesi istanze riformatrici e spinte innovatrici nel campo del diritto.

    Through the concept of división understood in its political and economic meaning, it is possible to reconstruct the complex dynamics that have affected the South of Italy between the end of the 18th and yhe beginning of the 19th century. The strong contrasts and the temporary compositions not only affected the fundamental institutional structures but also on many sectors of society, politics, the economy, from the judicial institutions to the cultural ones. In a short time, reforming demands and innovative pushes in the field of the law were summarized.
