    La ricerca è stata sollecitata dalla recente discussione sorta in dottrina riguardo all’autore della versione greca della “const. Imperiatoriam” Essa ha consentito di riaffermare con apposite argomentazioni l’attribuzione della traduzione ad un “antecessor” di età giustinianea. La riconsiderazione inoltre di alcune specifiche indicazioni testuali ha mostrato la probabile identificazione di questo “antecessor” con Teofilo.

    The research was prompted by the recent discussion arisen in doctrine concerning the author of the Greek version of "const. Imperiatoriam "It has allowed to reaffirm with proper arguments the attribution of the translation to an antecessor of Justinian’s age. The reconsideration of some specific textual indications showed the probable identification of this antecessor with Theophilus.
