    Questo saggio intende analizzare il concetto retorico di "prova tecnica", selezionado, tra le molteplici elaborazioni antiche in materia, quella greca di Aristole e quella romana di Quintiliano. A partire dal generale valore semantico di "texvn", se ne stuiderà la declinazione in relazione alla realtà processuale, e al conneso intervento del retore connesso all'attività probatori. L'analisi della narrazione aristotelica, nella Retorica, mostra come un significato amplio di quel termine (nel senso di "argomentazione") si mostri più adeguato; essa, d'altronde, serve a comprendere la profonda differenza tra la nozione antica di "tecnica della prova" e quella moderna. La ripresa di Quintiliano della riglessione greca è molto ampia, ma assume ciò nonostante toni di originalità, a causa delle mutate normative che regolano il processo, che fanno da cornice alla produzione delle prove

    This essay is meant to examine the rhetorical idea of "artistic proof", selecting, among the various ancient reflections on topic, the Greek one by Aristotle and the Roman one by Quintilian. Starting from the general meaning of "texvn", the study will be focused on its variation in the contex of trial and of the subsequent intervention by the orator in relation to probatory tasks. The analysis of Aristotl´s text, from the Rhetoric, shows that a wide sense is more adequate for that term (as "argumentation"); on the other hand, it helps to understand the deep distance between the ancient notion of "probatory technique" and the modern one. The reprise by Quintian of such concepts is large, but nonetheless it stands eith originality, because of the new regualtions of trial which frames the intoduction of proofs.
