    Generalmente, en la mayoría de las Escuelas de Arquitectura, la enseñanza establece su propio campo de acción con propósitos dirigidos al oficio de la arquitectura, y el actuar sobre su propia realidad. En ese sentido, la actividad de Taller es fundamental, al incorporar ejes temáticos que contribuyan en la fundamentación de los proyectos para lograr la relación objeto, ciudad y territorio. En Latinoamérica, diversas escuelas han implementado la reflexión teórica como uno de los ejes de Taller, siendo una de ellas, la Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso en Chile, escuela escogida para el presente trabajo, por estar considerada como una de las experiencias más importantes en investigación arquitectónica en América del Sur. Esta Escuela, a través del grupo de arquitectos y diseñadores que la constituyen, en su modo de enseñar y de hacer arquitectura comparten una visión poética del continente americano y, al mismo tiempo, la Escuela ha desarrollado un lenguaje figurativo en su modo de enseñar. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es analizar cada una de las etapas de la Escuela, con la finalidad de mostrar sus fundamentos, buscando identificar la línea teórica y de pensamiento que rigen su propia forma de ver, de pensar y de enseñar la arquitectura. Para ello, se revisarán las publicaciones, revistas y documentos en línea, relacionados con la enseñanza en la Escuela de la citada Universidad, a fin de interpretarlos, comprenderlos e intentar acercarnos a las teorías y pensamientos que guían su actividad, desde sus diferentes etapas hasta la contemporaneidad.

    Generally, in most architecture schools, teaching establishes its own field of action with purposes aimed at the office of architecture, and acting on its own reality. In this sense, the Workshop activity is fundamental, incorporating thematic axes that contribute to the foundation of the projects to achieve the object, city and territory relationship. In Latin America, several schools have implemented theoretical reflection as one of the axes of the Workshop, one of them being the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile, a school chosen for the present work, since it is considered as one of the most important experiences in architectural research in South America. This School, through the group of architects and designers that constitute it, in its way of teaching and doing architecture share a poetic vision of the American continent and, at the same time, the School has developed a figurative language in its way of teaching. The main objective of this research is to analyze each of the stages of the School, in order to show their "fundamentals", seeking to identify the theoretical and thought line that govern their own way of seeing, thinking and teaching architecture. To do this, publications, magazines and online documents related to teaching at the School of the aforementioned University will be reviewed, in order to interpret them, understand them and try to approach the theories and thoughts that guide their activity, from their different stages to the contemporaneity.
