  • The article discusses a study published in the journal "Cognition" which indicates that children are able to think scientifically and devise an experiment in which they isolate variables and test them independently. Noah Goodman, a scientist from Stanford University who was involved in the study, suggests that older children may not retain this ability because it is difficult to solve abstract puzzles which are used in science education.
