The article discusses the University Community Next Generation Innovation Project, also known as Gig.U, a group of U.S. universities including Duke University, Arizona State University, and the University of Chicago which will use one-gigabit-per-second Internet connections. The project will use input from local service providers to develop fast broadband networks, which could be as fast or faster than those used in South Korea.
