  • Resumen
    • The article discusses the author's view that, in order to survive long term, cities must be capable of change. He points out that to restricting choice to create a meta city or utopia will ultimately lead to a city's demise because cities must be able to adjust to changes in society and technology. He notes that most major cities have endured periods of decline or desertion including Berlin, Germany, London, England, and Tokyo, Japan. He mentions that cities like Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mumbai, India, and Nairobi, Kenya are places that will have huge impacts on the global future, even though these cities have developed differently than Old World cities have.
