  • The authors discuss the state of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in the U.S. and offer their opinion on how to improve education. Jaime Escalante, a renowned math teacher, is used as an example to show that effective teachers exist in the U.S., but often lack the proper tools, recognition, and support to succeed.
