The article discusses a steel-based movable structure, called the New Safe Confinement (NSC), that will be used to entomb the failed nuclear reactor at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukraine. An overview of the design and engineering of the NSC and concerns for worker safety, as a result of active radiative material at the sight of the failed reactor, is presented.
