The article discusses research by scientists at Astronautics Corporation of America in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who are developing a cooler based on magnets that eliminate compressors. A comparison of conventional coolers, such as air conditioners, in which a compressor performs much of the word, and magnetic coolers, in which the motor that spins the wheel does much of the work, is presented.
