    • The article discusses the neurological origins of resilience. According to the author, scientists thought that psychological resilience to the stresses of life was a rare event which was the result of genetics or good parenting, but research into bereavement and natural disasters found that the quality of resilience is common. Topics include an overview of behavior in some individuals that could be classified as narcissistic or dysfunctional, but is ultimately helpful with the adaptation to crisis, and a question of whether intervention programs that teach individuals resilience are effective in helping individuals cope naturally on their own.
