  • The article discusses the development of a microchip that simulates the activities and mechanics of entire organs and organ systems, called "organs on a chip." According to the author, organs on a chip would help scientists deal with some of the more challenging aspects of research, such as the need to experiment on whole animals. A brief overview of how organs on a chip works is presented.
