  • In this article the author discusses why predictions by economic experts fail, such as those made by investment fund managers who claim they can beat the stock market on a consistent basis. The author notes a study cited by television host John Stossel of "Fox Business News" that was published in the journal of "Economic and Portfolio Strategy" which showed that managed funds beat the market average only a small percentage of the time and discusses why predictions fail.
