  • The article discusses China's promise to reduce its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2020 and what the Chinese government will need to do to achieve its emission reduction goals. An overview of areas where China is failing to reduce emissions is presented, including the use of coal-fired plants, failure to develop sustainable energy sources, such as wind power plants, and exceeding international energy-efficiency targets.
