  • The article discusses the development of single-shot gigapixel cameras, which are cameras that can produce images composed of one billion picture elements, called pixels. A brief overview of the potential benefits of gigapixel cameras in law enforcement and the military, how the cameras work, and the challenges to producing a single-shot gigapixel camera, such as the lack of technology to process the pictures.
