  • The article discusses research by biochemists at Florida State University and Brigham Young University who are using a 40-ton magnet to obtain images of the influenza A virus on an atomic level. Topics include an overview of how the magnet is helping scientists understand the mechanism of resistance in the influenza A virus, such as the mutation of a surface protein, called the M2 protein, to avoid detection.
