  • The article discusses research on development of a vaccine for malaria, a parasitic disease transmitted by mosquitoes with high incidence in Africa and other developing countries. Many research studies have been conducted and one vaccine reportedly is being tested in advanced human trials. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation infectious disease programs director Regina Rabinovich is profiled and her views on malaria vaccine development are discussed.
