  • Resumen
    • This paper describes a 1986 study of differences in the connotative level of meaning. A three‐page survey was devised and used to sample populations of foreign and Japanese English teachers in the Kansai area. Statistically significant differences were found between the two subject groups. Analyses of the differences indicate a potentially fruitful area for further research.
