    La información acerca del turismo, sus actores y efectos es crucial para cualquier destino turístico, en el caso de Puerto Vallarta, que se encuentra en la etapa madura es urgente comenzar por conocer cuál es el valor económico que generan los hoteles, uno de los actores que cubre una de las necesidades básicas de los turistas: el hospedaje. A pesar de su importancia, esta información no se genera por las instancias gubernamentales o empresariales y hasta el momento ha sido difícil estimarlo porque los datos con los que se cuenta son agregados a niveles macroeconómicos y datos estadísticos descriptivos del turismo. El objetivo del trabajo es estimar el valor económico más verosímil del hospedaje en hoteles de 3 a 5 estrellas de Puerto Vallarta, tomando como variables la afluencia, estancia, porcentaje de ocupación, habitaciones disponibles y de la tarifa promedio mediante el uso de dos modelos determinísticos de regresión lineal y dos modelos de control. Los resultados arrojaron que la estimación del gasto en hospedaje en hoteles de 3 a 5 estrellas en Puerto Vallarta en el año 2015 mediante el Modelo Uno fue de $ 7,099,640,636.95 pesos, y mediante el Modelo Dos fue de $ 3,705,078,535.35 pesos.

    Information on tourism, its actors and effects is crucial for any touristic destination, in the case of Puerto Vallarta, which is in the mature stage is urgent to start with what the economic value generated by hotels is, which is one of the actors that covers one of the basic necessities of the tourists: the lodging. Despite its importance, this information is not generated by government and business entities and it has so far been difficult to estimate because the data with which they are recorded are aggregated at macroeconomic levels and other sources provide descriptive statistical data of tourism. The aim of the work is to estimate the most reliable economic value on lodging in 3 to 5 stars hotels in Puerto Vallarta, taking as variables the influx, stay, percentage of occupancy, available rooms and the average rate through the use of two deterministic models of linear regression and two control models. The results showed that the estimation of spending in hotels of 3 to 5 stars in Puerto Vallarta in the year 2015 through the Model One was of $ 7,099,640,636.95 pesos, and through Model Two was $ 3,705,078,535.35 pesos.
