Conocimiento e identificación del cyberbullying por parte de docentes de Buenos Aires

    Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio es describir en qué proporción los docentes de educación primaria y secundaria, de escuelas ubicadas en la Ciudad y Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, conocen e identifican distintas modalidades de cyberbullying descritas en la literatura internacional. Adicionalmente, se busca indagar en qué proporción los profesores consideran contar con herramientas suficientes para abordar esta problemática y la necesidad de recibir capacitación específica. Los resultados indican que si bien gran parte de los profesores identifica distintas modalidades de cyberbullying, una alta proporción considera que no cuenta con herramientas suficientes para intervenir ante estos casos. Se observa, además, que parte de los docentes confundieron los fenómenos de cyberbullying y grooming. Se discuten los resultados y se sugiere la necesidad de brindar información específica sobre esta problemática.

    Abstract: The objective of this study is to determine the proportion of elementary and secondary school teachers in the city and province Buenos Aires, Argentina, who know and identify various types of cyberbullying described in international literature. A second aim is to determine the proportion of teachers who believe they have sufficient tools to approach the problem of cyberbullying, and to define teachers’ need for specific training. The results indicate that although many teachers identify different types of cyberbullying, many believe they have insufficient tools for intervening in such cases. Another observation is that some teachers confuse cyberbullying and grooming. The article discusses the findings and suggests offering specific information about the problem.
