  • The article discusses research on photon interactions and their regulation by single atoms, a phenomenon said to be central to development of quantum computers. The experimentation of physicist Martin Mücke and team using laser beams and rubidium atoms is noted. The effect of a second laser beam on the ground state of a rubidium atom is explained.
