  • The article discusses plastic wastes discarded in the ocean, focusing on small fragments and their potential adverse effects on marine life and human health. Food chain effects associated with digestion of microplastics by marine life are mentioned. Also noted is the possibility that small pieces of waste plastic may cause blockages of invertebrate digestive systems.
