  • The article discusses the Sandia National Laboratories' Battery Abuse Testing Laboratory in New Mexico, that is in charge of testing the safety of lithium-ion batteries that are used in automobiles. The lab tests the batteries by heating, shocking, and puncturing them to see how they operate under extreme operation conditions and accidents.
