  • The article presents an overview of the benefits that are associated with vaccines and other drug therapies which contain DNA rings known as plasmids. A discussion of early research on plasmids which did not indicate that they were effective in treating disease is presented. Improvements which have been made to the plasmids and have increased their potency and ability to fight disease are discussed. Research on plasmid vaccines and therapies which has been conducted on animals and has found them to be effective in fighting or preventing disease is examined.
