The authors discuss obesity in the U.S. and disparities in its incidence as a result of social and economic injustice. Behavioral choices are related to the environments in which people live. Factors of concern include the availability or lack thereof of fresh vegetables, safe parks where children can play and get exercise, and advertisements for fast foods.
