  • The article discusses the importance of living an injury-free life. The author relates his experience of witnessing an automobile accident in which none of the individuals in the car were wearing seat belts. The author wonders why more individuals do not take simple steps to increase their safety and prevent injury and offers statistics on the number of injuries annually requiring an emergency room visit, the annual cost of preventable injuries, and lost productivity from injury.
