  Un arco network es un arco de tablero inferior, atirantado o bowstring, con una red de péndolas inclinadas que se cruzan entre sí varias veces, dando lugar a una disminución respecto del arco con péndolas verticales de entre el 75 y el 80% de los momentos flectores pésimos en el arco. El ahorro en coste de materiales en los arcos, tirantes inferiores y péndolas está entre un 20% y un 30%. El aumento de esbeltez, transparencia y ligereza de la estructura, además de mejorar su estética, simplifica los medios auxiliares durante su construcción, aumentando más el ahorro.

  Las distintas redes que pueden configurarse con un número de péndolas aproximadamente igual arrojan resultados muy similares en relación con la disminución de momentos flectores pésimos y el ahorro final en materiales. Por ello, las redes más recomendables son aquellos que más facilitan el diseño de los demás elementos estructurales y la construcción en general.
