Do not submit an article of analysis to a question of the black representation of the didactic books of Geography, endorsement or compliance of Law 10.639 / 03. After 130 years of abolition faces still or structural and institutional racism rooted in a Brazilian society, in this context education will become an instrument of mediation in the midst of racial equality. The main objective of this work is to review the content related to the African continent and the black years, which are often represented by the production of eurocentric educational material. This study was prepared based on an analysis of the geography of the 9th year, Geografia – Um olhar sobre o espaço mundial. Being or book didactic um large referential classroom for students and teachers, and required that we pay attention to Law, so that collaborate to a overcoming of racism at the Brazil.

No presente artigo analisa-se a questão da representatividade negra nos livros didáticos de Geografia. O objetivo principal é rever e discutir os conteúdos relacionados à África e aos negros nos livros didáticos, onde estes, comumente, estão representados na ótica de uma produção de material educacional eurocentrada. Sendo os livros didáticos, ainda, o grande referencial na sala de aula para alunos e professores, é necessário que os mesmos atendam a Lei 10.639/03, afim de que colaborem para as lutas de igualdade racial e superação do racismo.
