  • The article discusses the potential problems with public interest in science. The author presents an example of the unexpected consequences of heightened media interest in science in the form of a fictional all-science talk radio program. The main characters on the talk radio program, called Mike and the Mad Scientist, interact with callers and discuss issues ranging from research updates to trading scientists, which is similar to trading to athletes from one team to another.
