    El artículo busca indagar en la dimensión eclesial de la fe cristiana presente en la teología de Johann Baptist Metz y la teología política. En esta obra, el autor se pregunta cómo el cristianismo ha de anunciar su mensaje en medio de las actuales condiciones marcadas por el signo del pluralismo. El cómo del anuncio se encuentra para Metz en la compasión, la cual será la actitud que permitirá que el cristianismo dialogue con otras manifestaciones, tanto religiosas como sociales, políticas o culturales. A nivel de las religiones el diálogo es calificado por el autor como ecúmene indirecta de las religiones, el cual constituye el espacio por el cual las religiones se enfrentarán a las grandes situaciones de injusticia y sufrimiento del mundo. Lo anterior sienta las bases para que Metz pueda abogar por una renovación en la Iglesia a partir de la compasión la cual signifique pensar y realizar una teología de carácter policéntrica y multicultural. El pluralismo para nuestro autor representa en última instancia una oportunidad vital para repensar el carácter universal (catolicidad) de la fe cristiana a la vez que exige un nuevo reposicionamiento de la religión cristiana en el espacio público.

    The article seeks to investigate the ecclesial dimension of the Christian faith present in the theology of Johann Baptist Metz and political theology. In this work, the author asks how Christianity has to announce its message amid the current conditions marked by the sign of pluralism. The way of the announcement is for Metz in compassion, which will be the attitude that will allow Christianity to dialogue with other manifestations, both religious and social, political or cultural. At the level of religions, dialogue is described by the author as an indirect ecumene of religions, which is the space by which religions will face the great situations of injustice and suffering in the world. This provides the basis for Metz to advocate for a renewal in the Church based on compassion which means thinking and realizing a theology of a polycentric and multicultural nature. Pluralism for our author ultimately represents a vital opportunity to rethink the universal character (catholicity) of the Christian faith while at the same time demanding a new repositioning of the Christian religion in the public space.
