We believe that, with the obtention of an «in vivo» technique that reproduces an ocular response against a know antigen, we can as sociate an etiologic diagnosis, facilitating the therapy of allergic conjunctivitis.
Hypersensitivity for different antigens has been studied with the Ocular Provocation Test (O.P.T.) in 108 patients diagnosed of vernal keratoconjunctivitis.
There exist a tendency towards ocular sensitivization that increases with age; specially for mites and a correlation between ocular and cutaneous, mainly with the negative O.P.T. No correlation is found with blood sensitivization, studied by Histamine Release Test (H.R.T.).
