  La infección ocular por gérmenes inoculados mediante colirios, aunque de baja incidencia, es un hecho probado.

  Hemos estudiado la opinión de 60 oftalmólogos en Sevilla mediante una encuesta para conocer su nivel de conciencia frente a este riesgo.

  Hemos encontrado un nivel aceptable de sensibilización, con independencia de la edad o lugar de trabajo.

  Nuestros resultados sugieren que es la mala manipulación del colirio el mecanismo que se considera más importante para su contaminación.

  Ocular pathology caused by microorganisms inoculated from eyedrops, although of low incidence, is a proven fact.

  We have wanted to know the opinion of ophthalmologists on the possibility of contamination of these instillations and his/her conduct towards this situation in their daily practice.

  A survey has been carried out with the participation of 60 ophthalmologists in Sevilla, obtaining quite acceptable results on the awareness of contamination through eyedrops, causing no influence age or any other variables.

  The poor manipulation of the eyedrops is clearly established as the most important mechanism of contamination of such, as is considered by the majority of the ophthalmologists.
