Resumen de Estudio prospectivo de la técnica subescleral de Scheie en el glaucoma crónico simple: resultados y complicaciones

  Se han estudiado durante un año, prospectivamente, 21 ojos (13 pacientes) con glaucoma crónico simple y presiones intraoculares (P.I.O.) superiores a 30 mmHg. Sin tratamiento, operados con la técnica subescleral de Scheie al no ser controlados con terapéutica tópica. Se evaluaron los resultados mediante la curva tensional, hallándose una reducción de la P.l.O. máxima (p < 0,001) y las oscilaciones (p < 0,001). Al año de la intervención, 20 ojos tenían P.l.O.s inferiores a 21 mmHg.: 8 (38,1%) sin tratamiento y otros 12 (57,1%) con tratamiento tópico. En el postoperatorio inmediato, 14 ojos (66,7%) tuvieron aplanamientos de cámara anterior. Al año, 6 ojos (28,57%) tenían cataratas.

  A prospective study with one year follow-up has been performed on 21 eyes (13 patients) with primary open-angle glaucoma that had intraocular pressure (I.O.P.) over 30 mmHg. without treatment and that could not be controlled with topical medication. AII the eyes were operated with the subscleral Scheie procedure. The results were evaluated with the diurnal curve. A reduction of the maxim I.O.P.

  (p< 0.001) and of the oscillations (p< 0.001) was found. One year after surgery, 20 eyes had I.O.P.s under 21 mmHg.: 8 (38.1 %) without treatment and 12 (57.1 %) with topical therapy. In the immediate postoperative period, 14 eyes (66.7%) had flat anterior chambers. Six eyes (28.57%) developed cataracts one year after surgery.
