Resumen de Causas de fracaso de la trabeculostomía y tratamiento con 5-fluoruracilo

  Realizamos el análisis de 34 pacientes con glaucoma de alto riesgo, a los que se les interviene de trabeculostomía para el control de su tensión. Postoperatoriamente se realizan inyecciones subconjuntivales de 5-fluorouracilo al finalizar el acto quirúrgico, y diariamente durante 5 días, independientemente de su P.l.O.

  Al mes se realiza un nuevo control tensional, y en los casos con P.l.O. superior a 20 mmHg. (20% de casos) se inicia el tratamiento tardío con inyecciones de 5-FU, diariamente si la tensión intraocular fue mayor de 25, y en días alternos si estaba entre 21-25 mmHg.

  We have done a report of 34 patients with high risk glaucoma, that were operated on trabeculostomy procedure for control of their intraocular pressure (I.O.P.). Subconjuntival injections of 5-fluoruracil (5-FUO) were performed after surgery, and continued for 5 days, independent of their I.O.P. A new pressure control was done one moth later. When the I.O.P. was higher than 20 mmHg. (20% of the cases), a late treatament with 5-FU injections was done daily if the 1.0.P. was higher than 25 mmHg. If the I.O.P. was 21-25 mmHg. the subconjuntival injections of 5-FU was performed every other day.
