Resumen de El Ordo Virginum en los Padres Apostólicos: testimonios del ascetismo femenino en las primeras comunidades cristianas de la segunda generación

La mujer cristiana desarrolló, ya en los siglos I y II, unas formas de devoción vinculadas al ascetismo y la renuncia sexual como forma de entrega plena a Dios, siendo ésta la primera forma de monacato cristiano (urbano, al contrario del que se desarrolló en los siglos III y IV que prefirió el desierto como destino en la búsqueda de la hesiquía) del que tenemos constancia escrita. De los inicios de esta institución fueron los Padres Apostólicos quienes dieron testimonio de ellas y, por tanto, su testimonio no ha de ser ignorado, siendo éste mi objetivo, analizar esos textos que, a priori, han sido marginados o evidenciados en el estudio académico de esta institución que cobraría mayor fuerza en el siglo IV unida al movimiento del desierto.

Christian woman developed, as in the first and second centuries, some forms of devotion linked to asceticism and sexual renunciation as a form of full surrender to God, which is the first form of Christian monasticism (urban, unlike that it developed in the third and fourth centuries who preferred destination desert in search of hesychia) from which we have a written record.
