    En este estudio analizamos el rol de las emociones en las crónicas de cruzadas, examinando el descubrimiento de la Santa Lanza y la función moralizante de la ‘alegría’ utilizada por los cronistas. Primero, examinamos la noción de las emociones y las vías conceptuales e historiográficas de este campo de estudio. Posteriormente, analizamos el caso de la Santa Lanza como objeto sagrado y las emociones que suscita en los cronistas medievales, revisando los discursos políticos y religiosos que se articulan en torno a la reliquia.

    In this paper we analyze the role of the emotions in the chronicles of the crusades, examining the discovery of the Holy Lance and the moralizing function of the ‘joy’ used by the chroniclers. First, we examine the notion of the emotions and the conceptual and historiographical pathways of this area of study. Subsequently, we analyze the case of the Holy Lance as sacred object and the emotions that provokes in the medieval chroniclers, reviewing the political and religious speeches that are articulated around the relic.
