Resumen de Las Empresas Multinacionales (EMN) Peruanas: una Exploración Conceptual

Durante los últimos años (2000-2007), las exportaciones peruanas han tenido un excelente desempeño, de tal manera que el déficit constante de la balanza comercial no sólo se ha revertido, sino que además los saldos positivos vienen creciendo de manera sostenible.Sin embargo, las empresas exportadoras no son las únicas que han crecido, también las multinacionales peruanas lo han hecho. Tal es así, que algunas están actuando en diversos mercados de diferentes regiones del mundo.La EMN difiere de la empresa exportadora no solo por el hecho de actuar en destino, sino que para hacerlo debe diseñar estrategias relacionadas con la inversión directa extranjera (IDE) y contar con otros atributos que le permitan competir directamente con las empresas locales en donde actúan.El presente artículo tiene por objetivo relacionar la teoría de la IDE y de las EMN con las EMN peruanas, explorar desde una base teórica el accionar de las EMN peruanas y ver en qué medida se cumplen las previsiones de las teorías disponibles sobre este punto.

During the past few years (2002-2007), Peruvian exportation have had an excellent performance, not only the deficit of the commercial balance has been reversed, but also the positive balance has been growing in a sustainable way. Nevertheless, not the only the exporting enterprises have grown, but the Peruvian multinational enterprises have also developed. The MNE differ from the exporting enterprises not only by working at destination, but designing and managing different strategies related on the foreign direct investment (FDI) and counting on the other attributes that allows it to compete directly with the local enterprises. The object of the present article is to relate the FDI theory and the MNE with the Peruvian MNE, to explore on a theoretical basis the acting of Peruvian MNE and to what extent the expected results of the current theories on this point are fulfilled.
