    La formación  en los niños  de capacidades sensoriales que les permita su  relación  con el mundo circundante de forma completa, variada e integral que contribuya a la formación de su personalidad, constituye la tarea fundamental de la Educación sensorial. En correspondencia con esta idea, el presente trabajo se realiza con el objetivo de fundamentar la importancia del desarrollo sensorial en el aprendizaje de los  niños. Se parte del papel que tiene  el contacto directo con los objetos del medio que le rodea, a través de los órganos de los sentidos, en el desarrollo cognitivo, social, afectivo y emocional. Se reconoce que desde las primeras edades es  primordial que se  promueva la funcionalidad de los órganos sensoriales, ya que va a permitir la participación activa del niño en su entorno, y consecuentemente un aprendizaje significativo.

    The formation in the children of sensory capacities that allows them their relation with the surrounding world in a complete, varied and integral way that contributes to the formation of their personality constitutes the fundamental task of the sensory education. In correspondence with this idea, this work is done with the objective of basing the importance of sensory development in the learning of children. It is part of the role that has the direct contact with the objects of the environment that surrounds it, through the organs of the senses, in the cognitive, social, affective and emotional development. It is recognized that from the early ages it is essential that the functionality of the sensory organs be promoted, since it will allow the active participation of the child in its environment, and consequently a meaningful learning.
