    The present paper examines the role that the confrontation with Kant’s philosophy played for the young Marx. Based on letters, excerpts and biographical details, Marx‘ discussion of Kant since his very early study years is documented, including his reflections on the famous proof of God’s existence in the Critique of pure reason. Marx‘s interest in the analysis of society is already present then, and will later evolve to crystallize in the critique of political economy.

    Der vorliegende Aufsatz untersucht die Rolle, die für den jungen Marx die Begegnung mit Kants Philosophie spielt. Anhand von Briefen, Exzerpten und biographische Details wird dokumentiert, dass Marx schon sehr früh in seiner Studienzeit sich mit Kants Philosophie auseinandergesetzt hat, die berühmte Diskussion des Gottesbeweises in der Kritik der reinen Vernunft eingeschlossen. Schon da erscheint Marx' Interesse an der Analyse der Gesellschaft, die sich später als Kritik der politischen Ökonomie kristallisieren wird.
