  El incuestionable prestigio de Amparo Dávila está encuadrado en la literatura fantástica, porque gran parte de sus cuentos poseen las cualidades de ese género. No obstante, en nuestro estudio voluntariamente renunciamos a considerar su literatura desde la perspectiva del género fantástico, para en su lugar atender la manera como ella abordó la caracterización de sus protagonistas femeninos y masculinos, y sus entornos vitales. Ahí, en esos modestos y convencionales ámbitos de la vida doméstica o laboral cotidianos, sus protagonistas padecen secretos sufrimientos íntimos que los conducen a conductas y decisiones radicales. En la literatura de Amparo Dávila, nada de lo que ahí se describe es sobrenatural ni extraordinario; por el contrario, es la recreación del día a día de personajes comunes que ante el tic tac de lo cotidiano padecen el peor de sus sufrimientos, vivir;

  The unquestionable prestige of Amparo Dávila is framed in the fantastic literature, because a huge part of her tales has qualities of this genre. However, in our study, we voluntarily quit to consider her literature from the perspective of this fantastic genre, instead to attend the way as she addressed the characteristics of her female and male characters, and their life In those modest and conventional stages of the domestic and labor life that are lived every day, her characters suffered personal secrets that drive them to behavior and radical decisions.
