Alfabetización ambiental de los estudiantes del Colegio de Estudios Científicos y Técnicos de Sonora (CECYTES) de Bácum, Río Yaqui, Sonora, México

    Esta investigación tiene el propósito de determinar el nivel de alfabetización ambiental que poseen los estudiantes del CECyTES de Bácum, Sonora, mediante un instrumento diseñado en el Centro de Educación Ambiental en Wisconsin (WCEE), E.U.A., participaron 141 estudiantes inscritos en los semestres primero, tercero y quinto del ciclo lectivo Agosto-2016-Enero-2017, equivalente al 42.72% de la población total. La captura y análisis de datos se realizó en la hoja de cálculo de Excel y en el Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) V.17.Los estudiantes obtuvieron una media de 92.10 de respuestas adecuadas que corresponde al 51.16% del total de 180 preguntas, este resultado indica que el nivel de alfabetización ambiental de los estudiantes del CECyTES es Bajo “E”. Los resultados por componente ambiental, en actitud obtuvieron el 65.86% de respuestas adecuadas, en conducta el 53.15% y en conocimientos el 34.50%, lo que equivale a un nivel de alfabetización ambiental inaceptable “D” en actitud y Bajo “E” en conducta y conocimientos. En la variable género, el nivel de alfabetización ambiental en los hombres fue menor que en las mujeres al obtener un 48.48% y 53.33% de respuestas adecuadas respectivamente, y en ambos géneros el nivel fue Bajo “E”; en la variable semestre, correspondió al quinto semestre obtener la mayor cantidad de respuestas adecuadas con el 55.30% y con la cantidad menor fue el tercer semestre con el 49.80%, y el nivel de alfabetización de los tres semestres es Bajo “E”; en la variable grupos de estudiantes, el grupo con mayor cantidad de respuestas adecuadas fue el 1° “F” con el 55.69% y el grupo con menor respuestas fue el 3° “B” con el 48.68% y el nivel fue Bajo “E”. Se concluye que los estudiantes del CECyTES de Bácum, Sonora, poseen una cultura ambiental poco amigable con el planeta, por lo tanto, deben mejorar sus actitudes y con mayor razón, sus conductas y conocimientos ambientales para lograr un mejor aprovechamiento de los recursos naturales.

    This research has the purpose of determining the level of environmental literacy of the students of the CECyTES of Bacum, Sonora, through an instrument designed in the Center of Environmental Education in Wisconsin (WCEE), U.S.A., attended by 141 students enrolled in the semesters the first, third and fifth school year August-2016-January-2017, equivalent to 42.72% of the total population. The data capture and analysis was carried out on the worksheet in Excel and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) V.17.The students gained an average of 92.10 for appropriate responses that corresponds to 51.16% of the total of 180 questions, this result indicates that the level of environmental literacy of the students of the CECyTES is LOW "E". The results for environmental component, 65.86% obtained the attitude of appropriate responses, in conduct the 53.15% and knowledge for the 34.50%, which is equivalent to a level of environmental literacy UNACCEPTABLE "D" in attitude and UNDER "E" in conduct and knowledge. In the gender variable, the level of environmental literacy in men than in women to obtain a 48.48% and 53.33% of appropriate responses, respectively, and in both genders the level was LOW "E"; in the variable semester, corresponded to the fifth semester get the most appropriate responses with the 55.30% and with the smallest amount was the third semester with 49.80%, and the level of literacy of the three semesters is UNDER "E"; in the variable groups of students, the group with the highest number of responses was the 1° "F" with the 55.69% and the group with lowest responses was the 3° "B" with the 48.68% and the level was LOW "E". It is concluded that the students of the CECyTES of Bacum, Sonora, have an environmental culture unfriendly with the planet, therefore, must improve their attitudes and with greater reason, their behaviors and environmental knowledge to achieve a better utilization of the natural resources.
